"Safety Japan"

"Japan is Safety Country" [sic] urban legend

If you spend any length of time in Japan you will here this phrase. Almost all Japanese people use a phrase similar to this at one time or another. Japanese people think that their country is safe because of its low violent crime rate. However, for obvious reasons Japan is not necessarily a safe country.
